Few private clubs in Texas carry the weight of Dallas National. Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2002, it was built from the outset to be among the finest private layouts in the state — and by most measures it has delivered on that ambition. Golf Digest and Golf Magazine have both ranked it among the top courses in Texas, and it consistently draws comparisons to the elite private clubs of the American South and Mid-Atlantic rather than to its regional peers.
Fazio routed the course through the rugged limestone topography of the Trinity River corridor, using the natural cedar breaks, dramatic elevation changes, and exposed rock outcroppings that define this part of North Texas. The result feels considerably more dramatic than the flat, featureless terrain that surrounds much of Dallas, and it rewards players who can shape shots and manage distance on approach.
As a members-only club with no resort access, Dallas National plays to a relatively small audience — which is precisely the point. The exclusivity is deliberate, and the course itself reflects that ethos: unhurried, immaculate, and uncompromising.
