Temecula sits at the northern edge of Southern California's wine country, where the inland valleys of Riverside County trade the coast's marine layer for warm, dry summers and some genuine elevation change — terrain that translates well to golf. The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills is a public-access daily-fee course built into this rolling landscape, and the hills in the name aren't just branding: the site's contours give the layout a sense of movement that flatter ground simply can't manufacture.
The Temecula Valley has grown into a legitimate golf destination over the past few decades, with several courses competing for weekend players driving up from San Diego or east from the Orange County suburbs. Legends occupies a residential development setting, which is common to the region, but the surrounding hills and the area's oak-studded chaparral give it more visual character than a purely suburban layout typically offers.
For visitors, it plays as a comfortable, accessible round in a part of California that rewards the trip for its wineries and weather as much as its golf.
