Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course sits at the foot of the Beartooth Range in one of Montana's most dramatically positioned small towns. Red Lodge itself serves as the gateway to the Beartooth Highway — famously called "the most beautiful drive in America" — and the surrounding landscape delivers that same visual punch on the course. Elevation, mountain air, and big sky views define the setting before a single club is swung.
At altitude in southcentral Montana, the ball travels farther than golfers accustomed to lower elevations expect, which can flatter approach shots or betray club selection depending on how well you account for it. The terrain is genuine high-country: open meadows giving way to tighter, tree-lined corridors as the foothills close in, with the kind of backdrops that make even a bogey feel acceptable.
Red Lodge is a resort and ranching town with a distinct Western character, and the golf course reflects that unpretentious spirit — a full 18-hole layout that rewards the mountain visitor looking for a serious round without the resort-circuit formality.
