North Wales Golf Club

Few settings in Welsh golf command the eye quite like the North Wales Golf Club, perched on the hillside above Llandudno with the Great Orme headland looming to the west and sweeping views across the Irish Sea. Founded in 1894, it is one of the oldest clubs in the region and carries that lived-in sense of accumulated history — generations of members who have read these same slopes, argued over the same pin positions, and cursed the same coastal wind.

The course occupies genuinely dramatic terrain, where the land falls and rises in ways that make every approach feel like a negotiation rather than a routine. Inland holes play through tighter, more sheltered ground before the layout opens up to expose players to the prevailing breeze off the water — a breeze that has a habit of rewriting whatever score you thought you were building.

Llandudno itself is a Victorian seaside resort of real character, and the club fits that personality well: proud, traditional, and entirely serious about its golf without taking itself too seriously.
