Few places in central Florida announce themselves with genuine topographic drama, but Clermont is the exception — a town built across a series of ancient sand ridges that give it some of the most pronounced elevation changes in the entire state. Kings Ridge Golf Club sits squarely in that landscape, and the Ridge Course takes full advantage of it, delivering a playing experience that feels strikingly different from the flat, water-laden layouts that define so much of Florida golf.
Clermont sits about 25 miles west of Orlando in Lake County, a region defined by its chain of lakes and the rolling hills of the Lake Wales Ridge — a remnant landform of higher, drier ground that runs through central Florida. That terrain shapes the course's character: expect uneven lies, elevation-influenced club selection, and the kind of visual interest that makes each hole feel distinct.
Kings Ridge is a private community course serving its residential membership, which means conditions are typically well-maintained and the pace is relaxed. The par-71 layout rewards players who manage the varied topography thoughtfully rather than simply overpowering it.
