Yantis sits on the eastern shore of Lake Fork, one of Texas's most celebrated bass-fishing lakes and a destination in its own right for anyone drawn to the quiet, piney corner of Wood County. The Links at Land's End takes its name from the geography — a layout that pushes toward the water's edge, where the lake's broad presence shapes the atmosphere even when it's not directly in play. This part of East Texas trades the open prairie of the state's interior for a greener, more sheltered character, with tall pines and hardwoods framing the kind of setting you don't typically associate with Texas golf.
As a public course serving a small lakeside community, Land's End occupies a particular niche — the sort of place where local regulars and visiting anglers looking to fill an afternoon share the same tee sheet without any pretense.
The par-71 layout means at least one of the par categories breaks from symmetry, which typically signals a design built around the land rather than a formula — a promising sign for a course whose name already suggests it earned its shape from the shoreline.
