Camposol Golf Club sits on the hillside community of the same name, a large residential development that sprawls across the sierra above the Gulf of Mazarrón on Spain's Costa Cálida. The course was built to serve the expatriate community that grew up around it — predominantly British and northern European retirees who settled here for the reliable sunshine and low cost of living. It's a quintessential community course in that sense: golf as a social anchor for a neighbourhood rather than a destination in its own right.
The terrain is rugged and sun-baked, typical of Murcia's interior hills, where drought-resistant scrub and sparse Mediterranean vegetation dominate the landscape. Conditions tend to be firm and fast for much of the year, and the elevation changes across the layout add both visual interest and genuine strategic variety that a flat scorecard reading can't convey.
Mazarrón itself is a working coastal town with a modest but loyal local golf culture. Camposol is not a resort showcase or a tournament venue, but for the community it serves, it delivers reliable, unpretentious golf under almost guaranteed sunshine.
