Quidnessett Country Club occupies one of the more quietly prestigious addresses in Rhode Island golf, situated in North Kingstown along the western shore of Narragansett Bay. The club draws its name from the Narragansett word for the area, and its setting reflects the character of this stretch of coastal New England — mature hardwoods, open sky, and the kind of unhurried, established atmosphere that private clubs along the New England shoreline tend to cultivate over generations.
The course itself plays as a full par 72 over 18 holes, and by reputation it is a members' course in the truest sense — designed to reward familiarity, with a layout that reveals more about itself the more often you walk it. Rhode Island's compact geography means the club sits within easy reach of Providence, yet it feels removed from the city's pace.
For visiting golfers, Quidnessett is access-by-introduction only, which keeps it firmly in the category of courses you hear about rather than simply book. That exclusivity has helped preserve both its conditions and its culture.
