Founded in 1903, Hendon Golf Club is one of North London's longer-standing private members' clubs, occupying parkland terrain in the NW7 corridor near the Mill Hill border. The club has quietly accumulated well over a century of history, surviving the pressures of urban expansion that have claimed many of its contemporaries, and it remains a genuine members' course rather than a commercial operation — the kind of place where the same faces have been competing for club honours across generations.
The parkland layout rolls across ground typical of this part of the London Borough of Barnet, with mature trees defining fairways and providing the primary defence alongside a par of 70. It rewards accurate ball-striking over raw power, and the shorter par figure means bogeys carry real weight — there is little room for a loose hole to be quietly absorbed.
London's northwest suburbs are not glamorous golf territory, but they support a dense and competitive club scene, and Hendon sits comfortably within that tradition. For visiting golfers, it offers an authentic window into the enduring culture of the English members' club.
