Jack Nicklaus put his signature on this West Palm Beach layout, which opened in 2022 as the centerpiece of a luxury resort development on land that had been promised to golfers for years before finally taking shape. The design reflects Nicklaus's trademark philosophy — generous landing zones off the tee that funnel into precisely contoured approaches, with greens that reward players who think about position rather than just power. Water features prominently throughout, as it does on nearly every serious course in South Florida, and the routing makes repeated, strategic use of it rather than treating it as decoration.
West Palm Beach sits at the northern edge of the Palm Beaches, a stretch of coastline with one of the densest concentrations of private and resort golf in the country. The climate means year-round play, but winters draw the heaviest traffic as northerners escape the cold for reliably warm, dry conditions.
As a resort course, Banyan Cay is built for the full destination experience — walkable for those who want it, but equally at home as a cart-and-cocktails kind of afternoon for visitors treating themselves to something special.
