Shenendoah Golf Course

Shenendoah Golf Course sits on the grounds of Turning Stone Resort Casino, the sprawling destination property operated by the Oneida Indian Nation in central New York. Turning Stone built itself into one of the Northeast's most serious golf destinations over the years, and Shenendoah — designed by Rick Smith and opened in 1997 — became the anchor of that reputation. Golf Digest and other outlets have consistently ranked it among the best courses in New York State, and it regularly draws players from well beyond the region who pair a round with the resort's casino, hotel, and dining amenities.

Smith routed the course through a heavily wooded landscape of mature hardwoods and rolling terrain, giving Shenendoah a secluded, almost private-club feel despite its resort setting. Fairways wind through corridors of oak and maple, and the design rewards accuracy over raw power — the trees are in play, and errant shots tend to disappear.

Central New York's distinct seasons mean the course plays differently through the year, with fall rounds offering some of the most visually striking golf in the state.
