Gangwon Province is South Korea's most rugged and scenic region — a mountainous stretch of the peninsula where the Taebaek range runs close to the East Sea coast, and where golf courses tend to sit inside dramatic natural topography rather than sitting atop flattened terrain. Goseong-gun, in the province's far northeast corner, is one of the quieter counties along that coastline, better known for the pine-forested shores of Hwajinpo Lake and the proximity to the Demilitarized Zone than for a concentrated golf scene. That remoteness is precisely what defines the experience of playing here.

Pine Lees CC (파인리즈CC) sits within this pine-and-mountain landscape, and the name itself signals what the design leans into: the native red pine forests that cover the hillsides of coastal Gangwon are as much a visual boundary as they are a hazard, framing fairways and demanding accurate shotmaking off the tee.
