High Cliff Public Golf Course sits in Sherwood, a small community on the western shore of Lake Winnebago in Calumet County — one of Wisconsin's most distinctive stretches of inland water. At roughly 137,700 acres, Winnebago is the largest lake entirely within the state, and the land around it has a character shaped by glacial geology: dolomite outcroppings, hardwood ridgelines, and open farmland that transitions into wooded bluffs near the water's edge.
