Reflection Ridge opened in 1996 on Wichita's south side, designed by Jeff Brauer — a prolific midwest architect whose work tends to favor strategic, ground-game golf over pure aerial spectacle. The course built a quick reputation as one of the stronger public-access layouts in the Wichita market, blending open Kansas prairie character with thoughtful bunkering and varied terrain that rewards course management. Brauer gave the routing a reflective quality (the name is literal — several holes play alongside water features that mirror the big Kansas sky), and the par 72 layout tests every club in the bag without relying on sheer length to make its point.
Wichita sits in the heart of the southern plains, where the wind is as much a part of the round as any hazard on the card. Reflection Ridge is exposed enough that club selection is a genuine conversation on most holes, and conditions shift quickly across a round.
For Wichita regulars, this is a course taken seriously — not a warm-up track, not a resort novelty, but a layout that has held its standing in a city with a competitive and dedicated golfing community.
