Longridge Golf Club sits on the edge of the Ribble Valley, one of Lancashire's most quietly rewarding corners of countryside. The town of Longridge itself perches on a ridge above the surrounding farmland, and the course takes full advantage of that elevated position — expect open skies, prevailing westerly winds that can fundamentally change how the layout plays, and views across to the Forest of Bowland on a clear day.
Lancashire has a deep, unfussy relationship with its golf clubs, and Longridge feels very much a part of that tradition: a members' club that exists to serve its community rather than chase prestige, with the kind of atmosphere where visiting golfers are welcomed rather than merely tolerated. A par of 70 signals a course that rewards precision and course management over brute length — this is not a layout you overpower.
The Ribble Valley corridor is genuinely good walking country, and that quality extends onto the course. Rounds here are earned through thought and local knowledge as much as raw ball-striking.
