Yeoju sits in the southern reaches of Gyeonggi Province, where the South Han River carves through a landscape of low ridgelines, agricultural plains, and the kind of quiet, unhurried countryside that feels a world removed from Seoul's sprawl — even though the capital is only about 90 minutes away. The area is best known for its ceramics heritage and the royal tomb complexes of the Joseon dynasty, and that same sense of layered history gives the region a distinctive character that many of the capital's closer golf corridors lack.
동여주CC (East Yeoju Country Club) is one of several private and semi-private clubs that have developed around Yeoju-si as Gyeonggi's golf belt extended southward. Courses in this part of the province typically work with rolling terrain shaped by the river valley, offering elevation changes and wooded corridors that reward strategic positioning off the tee rather than pure length.
For visiting golfers, the Yeoju area represents a genuine day-trip destination from Seoul — far enough to feel like an escape, close enough to be practical — with a playing environment that reflects the greener, more rural character of outer Gyeonggi.
