Golf de la Forge

The Dordogne valley earns its reputation in autumn, when the walnut orchards turn and the river bends through limestone cliffs and medieval villages — and Golf de la Forge sits squarely in that landscape, a rural course that feels genuinely embedded in the Périgord Noir countryside rather than imposed upon it. The name references the old forge that once occupied part of the property, a remnant of the rural industry that once threaded through this corner of southwest France.

Siorac-en-Périgord is a small riverside village on the Dordogne, positioned between Sarlat and Bergerac — two of the region's most visited towns — which gives the course an appeal to visiting golfers touring the area rather than a dense local membership base. The surrounding terrain is rolling and wooded, and the course works through that topography in a relaxed, unhurried way typical of French provincial golf.

This is not a course built for championship ambitions. It offers a genuine country-golf experience: quiet, scenic, and suited to a morning round before an afternoon of markets, wine caves, or the prehistoric sites that make the Périgord one of France's most culturally layered regions.
