Few addresses carry as much weight in American golf as Ponte Vedra Beach. This stretch of northeast Florida coastline is the cradle of the PGA Tour — the organization was born here, and the town's courses have shaped the sport's professional landscape for decades. The Dye's Valley Course sits within the TPC Sawgrass complex, sharing hallowed ground with the Stadium Course next door, and bears the name of Pete Dye, the architect whose fingerprints are all over modern tournament design: railroad ties, island greens, deceptive angles, and courses that look wilder than they play — or play harder than they look.
Where the Stadium Course draws the worldwide spotlight each March during The Players Championship, the Valley Course occupies a different role — a more accessible but still demanding companion layout, routed through the marshlands and mature Florida pines that define this corner of St. Johns County.
The setting is unmistakably coastal South: flat terrain, salt air, afternoon thunderstorms, and the kind of soft turf that rewards precise iron play. Playing here carries the particular satisfaction of walking ground synonymous with the Tour's identity.
