Coronel Brandsen sits roughly 70 kilometers southeast of Buenos Aires on the flat, open pampa — cattle country, estancia country, where the horizon seems impossibly wide and the light has a particular quality that painters have chased for centuries. Haras del Sur is a private country-club and residential development in that tradition, built around the concept of the haras — the horse-breeding estate — and the 2 courses it hosts reflect that pastoral, landowner sensibility rather than anything resembling a resort or a public layout.
The II course occupies the same sprawling property as its companion layout, sharing the characteristic landscape of the Argentine pampa: minimal elevation change, open skies, and the kind of wind that can quietly wreck a scorecard before you notice it building. Tree plantings and water features do the architectural work that topography cannot, shaping holes through a landscape that rewards ball-strikers who can manage a low, penetrating flight.
Playing here means access to one of the more established private golf communities in greater Buenos Aires Province — a members' world with a genuine polo-and-golf culture that feels distinctly Argentine rather than imported.
