Golfvöllurinn Dalbúi is the home course of Selfoss Golf Club, one of the older golf organizations in Iceland, operating a layout that sits in the broad, flat farmland of the Ölfusá river valley. Selfoss itself is the largest town in South Iceland — a practical, unpretentious hub rather than a tourist set piece — and the course reflects that character. You're playing on genuine Icelandic agricultural land, with the wide river and the surrounding lava-and-moss landscape never far from view.
Golf in Iceland comes with conditions that no scorecard can capture: long summer days where evening rounds stretch past midnight under a pale sky, unpredictable Atlantic winds that can turn a modest layout into a serious examination, and a playing season compressed into the warmer months. Dalbúi is a community course in the truest sense — somewhere local members have played for generations, where the atmosphere is relaxed and the welcome is genuine.
For visiting golfers, it offers an honest, unadorned Icelandic golf experience: nothing manufactured, nothing manicured beyond its means, just open terrain, real weather, and the particular pleasure of playing golf somewhere the landscape reminds you exactly where you are.
