Bulahdelah sits in the heart of the Myall Lakes region on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, a stretch of country defined by towering spotted gums, river flats, and the kind of unhurried pace that small Australian country towns do well. The town itself is a familiar stop on the Pacific Highway for travellers heading north toward Port Macquarie and beyond, but the golf course gives visitors a genuine reason to pull off and stay a while.
As a country 18-hole layout playing to a par 70, Bulahdelah almost certainly reflects the character of so many great rural Australian clubs — built and maintained by the community, shaped around the natural lie of the land rather than imposed upon it. That tends to produce courses with real personality: uneven lies, inventive hole routing, and greens that reward local knowledge.
The Myall Lakes region offers a compelling backdrop, with the Myall River, coastal lakes, and National Park bush all within reach. Golf here is as much about where you are as how you score.
