Henne Golfklub occupies one of the most dramatically situated pieces of golfing ground in Denmark, set on the Jutland peninsula's exposed North Sea coast where the landscape is defined by open heathland, windswept dunes, and vast skies. The club sits near the village of Henne, a quiet coastal community in Southwest Jutland known for its wide beaches and the striking contrast between the inland heather moors and the raw Atlantic-facing shoreline. This is not groomed, manicured Denmark — it's elemental, weather-beaten terrain that gives the course genuine links character rare in Scandinavian golf.
The course itself threads through heathland and sandy scrub, and the prevailing westerly winds off the North Sea are as much a factor as any bunker or hazard the design throws at you. Like many Danish provincial clubs, it rewards local knowledge and course management over brute force.
For visiting golfers, the draw is as much about the setting as the scorecard — a round here feels genuinely remote, unhurried, and rooted in landscape that golf courses in more populated corners of Europe simply cannot replicate.
