Few courses in Atlantic Canada match the setting Brudenell River offers. Laid out along the banks of the Brudenell River in eastern Prince Edward Island, the course winds through a landscape that defines the Island at its most photogenic — red-earthed fairways, spruce-lined borders, and tidal river views that shift with the light throughout the day. It's part of the Rodd Brudenell River Resort complex near Cardigan, which has made this corner of Kings County a genuine golf destination since the course opened in 1969.
Brudenell was designed by C.E. "Robbie" Robinson, one of the most prolific golf architects in Maritime Canada, and his routing makes full use of the river's natural contours. Several holes play directly alongside or across the water, demanding both patience and precision, while the inland stretches reward players who can work the ball through the breeze that frequently rolls in off the estuary.
PEI's golf season runs late May through October, with summers that are warm, green, and genuinely spectacular. Brudenell sits among the province's most respected layouts, drawing visitors who've already made the pilgrimage to nearby Crowbush Cove and want to see more of what the Island's east end quietly offers.
