Murray Parkway has been a fixture of Salt Lake Valley public golf since the 1980s, a city-owned course that serves as a genuine workhorse for the region's considerable golfing population. Designed to wind through the parkway corridor along the Jordan River, the layout makes natural use of the riparian terrain — water comes into play on a number of holes, and the cottonwood trees that line the river give the course a greenery and shade that can feel surprisingly removed from the surrounding suburban landscape.
The Wasatch Front is serious golf country, with a long season that stretches from early spring into late fall, and courses like Murray Parkway absorb enormous daily play while still managing to offer a worthwhile round. At par 72, the design has enough variety to keep experienced players engaged while remaining approachable for those still developing their games.
As a municipal course in a mid-valley city, Murray Parkway is about accessibility above all — affordable, walkable, and embedded in the community it serves.
