Few resort courses in Texas carry a name that so accurately describes their personality. Wolfdancer Golf Club is the centerpiece of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort, winding through a stretch of the Lost Pines forest — a biologically remarkable island of loblolly pines that somehow survives more than 100 miles west of the main Piney Woods of East Texas. The effect on a golfer is immediate: you feel transported somewhere unexpected, far from the open ranchland and scrub that defines much of the Hill Country corridor.
The course threads through the pines and along the Colorado River corridor, with the varied terrain demanding creative shot-making rather than simple power. Environmental sensitivity shaped the routing, and the result is a layout that rewards players who pay attention to the land rather than just the yardage markers.
As a resort course attached to a full-service destination property, Wolfdancer accommodates a wide range of guests, but it plays with enough character and challenge to satisfy serious golfers looking for something beyond a casual warmup round.
