Randolph Oaks sits on Randolph Air Force Base, one of the most storied military installations in the United States. Known historically as the "West Point of the Air," Randolph AFB was established in the 1920s and has long served as a hub for Air Force pilot training and personnel. The course is part of the base's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program, giving active-duty service members, veterans, and their families access to a full 18-hole layout in the heart of central Texas.
The surrounding landscape is quintessential San Antonio–area terrain — broad skies, warm summers, mild winters, and the kind of open, sun-baked fairways typical of south-central Texas. The region's golf season runs essentially year-round, and military courses in this corridor have a long tradition of offering solid, no-frills conditions at a price point that reflects their community mission.
Randolph Oaks plays to par 72, giving it the full range of holes and strategic variety expected of a proper 18-hole track. For the military community stationed at or near the base, it functions as both a recreational outlet and a genuine home course — a place where rank is checked at the first tee.
