Marysville sits in the heart of the Victorian Central Highlands, about 90 minutes northeast of Melbourne in the Yarra Ranges foothills — a town synonymous with cool-climate beauty and, for many Victorians, a long history of weekend escapes. The surrounding landscape is defined by mountain ash forests, clear streams, and the kind of clean hill-country air that makes a round feel like a proper getaway from the city.
A par 71 layout in a setting like this typically rewards course management over raw power, where tight tree-lined fairways and undulating terrain demand accuracy and local knowledge. Mountain courses in this part of Victoria tend to play firmer and faster in summer, and considerably more demanding once autumn mist rolls through the ranges.
Marysville as a community showed remarkable resilience after the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires devastated the town, and the golf course is very much part of that recovery story — a living piece of the region's determination to rebuild and welcome visitors back to one of Victoria's most scenic corners.
