Las Vegas golf exists in a strange duality — the desert scrub and raw mountain backdrop on one side, the neon excess of the Strip on the other — and Highland Falls Golf Club sits firmly in the more residential, community-minded half of that world. Located in the Sun City Summerlin development in the northwest reaches of the valley, Highland Falls is a Del Webb community course built to serve the active adults who call that planned neighborhood home. It opened in the early 1990s alongside its companion course, Eagle Crest, giving Summerlin residents two layouts to rotate through across the seasons.
The course plays through the high desert terrain characteristic of the Spring Mountains' eastern flank, where elevation and occasional wind off the ridgeline keep conditions more forgiving than the scorched valley floor in summer. Mature desert landscaping and mountain views define the visual experience more than lush fairway corridors.
As a private members' course tied to a specific residential community, Highland Falls is less a destination than a daily ritual — the kind of place where regulars know each other's games as well as their own.
