Welli Hilli CC sits within the Welli Hilli Park resort complex in Hoengseong County, one of Gangwon Province's premier four-season mountain destinations. The resort is best known as a ski area, and the golf course shares that alpine identity — fairways carve through forested ridgelines at genuine elevation, with the kind of dramatic vertical relief that makes distances feel deceptive and club selection a constant conversation. This is mountain golf in the Korean highlands, where the terrain does the talking.
Gangwon-do is the most rugged province on the Korean Peninsula, and Hoengseong sits at its western edge, roughly 2 hours from Seoul. The area draws city golfers willing to make the drive for cooler summer temperatures and scenery that the flatlands simply can't offer. Autumn, when the surrounding deciduous forest turns, is widely considered the finest time to play here.
As a resort course attached to a large ski and leisure complex, Welli Hilli caters to a broad mix of guests and overnight visitors rather than a tight-knit membership. Expect well-maintained conditions, a full clubhouse experience, and a layout that rewards course management over raw power — the mountain terrain leaving little room for wayward shots.
