Few golf clubs anywhere can claim a continuous history quite like Royal Colombo's. Founded in 1879, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia, and its "Royal" prefix — granted by the British colonial administration — speaks to an era when the game arrived in Ceylon alongside the empire itself.
