Glen Abbey Golf Club

Few courses in Canada carry the weight of history that Glen Abbey does. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1976, it was purpose-built as a tournament venue — the first course in North America conceived specifically to host a national open championship. It became the longtime home of the RBC Canadian Open, hosting the event more than 30 times and producing some of the most celebrated moments in the tournament's history, including Tiger Woods' legendary 218-yard 6-iron from the fairway bunker on the 18th hole to seal his 2000 victory.

The course occupies a glacially carved valley along Sixteen Mile Creek just outside Toronto, and that topography defines its character. The back nine descends dramatically into the creek corridor, where five holes play through a lush, sheltered ravine before climbing back out — a stretch that routinely decides championships and humbles everyday rounds alike.

Glen Abbey is now operated by ClubLink and welcomes daily-fee play, meaning the same fairways that tested the world's best remain accessible to any golfer willing to make the trip to Oakville.
