Batteaux Creek Golf sits in the rolling countryside of Nottawa, a small community just south of Collingwood in Simcoe County. This is the southern Georgian Bay region — four-season cottage country defined by the Niagara Escarpment, the ski hills of Blue Mountain, and a landscape shaped by glacial activity that left behind exactly the kind of undulating terrain golf architects dream about. The area draws outdoor enthusiasts year-round, and golf is central to the summer calendar here.
The course takes its name from Batteaux Creek, the historic waterway that runs through the area — a nod to the bateau boats once used along this corridor during the fur trade era. That sense of place carries through to the layout itself, which works with the natural contours of the land rather than imposing artificial drama on them. Water and elevation changes factor into several holes, and the views toward the Escarpment give rounds here a scenic backdrop that is legitimately earned.
For golfers visiting the Collingwood area, Batteaux Creek represents a solid regional option — approachable enough for recreational play but with enough character to hold the interest of better players. The broader Blue Mountain corridor offers a competitive local golf scene, and this course holds its own within it.
