Rikstens GK sits on the southern fringe of the Stockholm metropolitan area, in the suburb of Tullinge — a part of Botkyrka municipality that gives way fairly quickly to the forests and lakes that define the Swedish capital's green belt. The club has been a fixture of Stockholm's active golf scene since the 1990s, and the course plays through classic Scandinavian terrain: pine and birch woodland, rocky outcroppings, and the kind of natural elevation change that demands honest shotmaking rather than pure power.
The layout rewards local knowledge. Tight tee shots through forested corridors, firm and fast fairways during the short Swedish summer, and greens that can be tricky to hold when the ground is dry — these are the conditions Stockholm golfers know well. The course plays to a solid challenge without being punishing, making it a genuine test for mid-handicappers while remaining enjoyable for members playing regular weekend rounds.
Stockholm's golf season runs hard from May through September, and clubs like Rikstens carry a culture of making the most of every daylight hour — which in midsummer means a lot of them.
