Golf de Villarceaux

Golf de Villarceaux occupies the grounds of the Château de Villarceaux estate in the Vexin Normand, a rural plateau northwest of Paris where rolling farmland gives way to wooded valleys and limestone escarpments. The course shares its setting with one of the most storied private domains in the Île-de-France — the château itself dates to the 17th and 18th centuries and is inseparable from the legend of Ninon de Lenclos, the celebrated courtesan whose long affair with the Marquis de Villarceaux is said to have unfolded on these very grounds. Playing here carries an architectural and historical weight that very few golf courses anywhere can claim.

The layout winds through parkland and forest typical of the Vexin, with mature trees framing fairways and the château and its formal gardens periodically coming into view. The terrain is naturally undulating, and the mix of open and enclosed holes gives the round a varied, unhurried rhythm well suited to the unhurried character of the region.

Val-d'Oise is home to several serious parkland courses within reach of Paris, but Villarceaux earns its reputation through setting as much as design — the kind of place where the walk between holes feels as purposeful as the golf itself.
