Templer Park Country Club takes its name from one of the more dramatic backdrops in Malaysian golf — Templer Park itself, the sprawling forest reserve on the northern fringe of Rawang that was gazetted in the 1950s and named after the last British High Commissioner of Malaya, Field Marshal Sir Gerald Templer. Playing here means threading fairways against a wall of primary jungle, with the limestone hills and dense rainforest canopy that define this corridor between Kuala Lumpur and the Titiwangsa foothills serving as a constant, vivid presence.
Rawang sits roughly 35 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur along the old trunk road, close enough to the capital to draw a serious membership but far enough to feel genuinely removed from the city. The Selangor region supports a competitive private club scene, and a course carrying the Templer Park name carries a certain expectation of setting — lush, tropical, and seldom forgiving in the humidity.
As a members-only club, the experience is built around familiarity and community rather than resort fanfare. Guests typically need a member's introduction, which keeps the atmosphere unhurried and the course in good condition for those who belong.
