Lithuania's golf culture is still young by European standards, and Druskininkai — the country's most celebrated spa town — has become one of its unexpected centers. Known for centuries as a place of healing waters and pine-scented air along the Nemunas River valley, Druskininkai draws visitors from across the Baltics seeking both rest and recreation, and the area's flat-to-gently-rolling forested terrain translates naturally into playable, welcoming golf.
Vilkė ("The Wolf") sits near the small village of Leipalingis, southeast of Druskininkai proper, in a landscape defined by mixed Lithuanian forest and the quiet agricultural edges of the Dzūkija region — one of the country's most distinctive ethnographic areas, known for its sandy soils, dense woodlands, and unhurried pace of life. The setting gives the course a genuine countryside character, well removed from resort fanfare.
As one of the few golf facilities in southern Lithuania, Vilkė serves a dual role: a practical home club for a small but committed local golfing community, and a discoverable stopover for visitors extending a Druskininkai spa break into something more active.
