Killdeer sits in the heart of the North Dakota Badlands, where the landscape drops and folds into buttes, coulees, and draws that look more like the American Southwest than the northern plains. Medicine Hole Golf Course takes its name from a legendary local landmark — a cave near the Killdeer Mountains said by Native peoples to have no bottom, a place of mystery and spiritual significance.
