Casa De Campo - Teeth of the Dog

Pete Dye's masterpiece on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic is widely considered the finest golf course in the Caribbean — and one of the great designs anywhere in the world. Built in 1971 with the help of 300 local workers who hand-cleared the rocky shoreline, Teeth of the Dog earned its name from the jagged coral formations that define the coastline and frame several of its holes. Dye himself called it his favorite course, and it regularly ranks among the top 100 courses on the planet.

7 of the 18 holes play directly along the Caribbean Sea, making this one of the most visually dramatic settings in the game. The par-3s along the water — particularly holes 5, 7, and 16 — are the kind of holes that stay with you for life: tiny targets framed by turquoise ocean, with the ever-present trade winds turning straightforward-looking shots into real decisions.
