Rya Golf Club sits on the coastal edge of northwestern Skåne, where the Öresund strait separates Sweden from Denmark, and the East Course makes the most of that dramatic geography. The club has been one of the more respected layouts in southern Sweden for decades, drawing members and visitors alike from nearby Helsingborg — Sweden's fourth-largest city, barely a few minutes' drive away. The terrain here is a mix of open heathland and mature woodland, with sea winds off the Öresund capable of turning a straightforward card into something considerably more demanding.
Rya operates as a private members' club with a welcoming attitude toward visiting golfers, a common trait among serious Skåne clubs. The East Course is the longer, more demanding of the club's two layouts, routed through a varied landscape that shifts between tighter, tree-lined holes and more exposed stretches where club selection becomes a genuine conversation with the wind.
Skåne is Sweden's most golf-dense region, with a flat, fertile landscape and a relatively mild climate that extends the season noticeably compared to the rest of the country. Playing here puts you squarely in that tradition — competitive, well-maintained, and unapologetically Scandinavian in its understated quality.
