Falls sits in Wyoming County, tucked into the northeastern corner of Pennsylvania's Endless Mountains region — a landscape of rolling hardwood ridges, creek hollows, and small rural communities that have never had much reason to put themselves on the map. Golf out here operates quietly, away from the resort corridors of the Poconos to the south and the busier suburban layouts closer to Scranton.
Emanon Country Club carries the kind of name that rewards a second look — "Emanon" is "no name" spelled backward, a playful bit of wordplay that turns up occasionally in American club history as a self-deprecating founding joke. Whether or not that origin holds here, it fits a course that has clearly never chased attention. Private and members-only, Emanon exists for the people who belong to it, and that insularity tends to produce courses with genuine personality — layouts shaped more by the land and local preference than by any marketing brief.
At par 70, the course plays shorter than a championship test, which in hilly northeastern Pennsylvania terrain often means elevation change and tight lies do the work that length doesn't.
