Sprowston Manor occupies the grounds of a historic manor house on the northeastern fringe of Norwich, where centuries-old parkland trees define the layout as much as any bunker or water hazard. The course wraps around the Marriott hotel that now inhabits the manor, giving the whole property the character of a traditional English estate course — measured and considered rather than dramatic, with mature woodland corridors framing many of the holes and rewarding straight, composed play over power.
Norfolk's gentle, rolling countryside is well represented here. The landscape is decidedly inland and parkland in style, a contrast to the links golf found along the county's North Sea coastline at Brancaster or Sheringham. Sprowston suits golfers who appreciate tree-lined definition and a setting that feels genuinely rooted in place — the kind of course where the surroundings do a lot of the talking.
As a Marriott resort property, it draws a broad mix of leisure visitors and local society golfers, offering a reliable, well-maintained experience without pretending to be anything it isn't.
