Few cities in British Columbia sit as dramatically at the crossroads of wilderness and everyday life as Prince George, where the Nechako and Fraser Rivers meet and the boreal forest presses in from every direction. The Prince George Golf Club has served as the city's golfing anchor through decades of growth and change in this northern Interior hub, offering a proper 18-hole test to a community that takes its recreation seriously despite — or perhaps because of — the short playing season that comes with life above the 54th parallel.
The course plays through terrain shaped by the region's characteristic mix of conifer stands and open ground, giving rounds here a distinctly northern feel that you won't find on the manicured resort layouts of the Okanagan or the Lower Mainland. The par-71 layout rewards course management over raw power, and the cooling summers keep the turf in good condition through the peak months when local members make the most of the daylight.
For visitors passing through on the Yellowhead or heading north toward the Peace Country, the club represents genuine community golf — the kind of place where a welcoming pro shop and a competitive local membership define the experience as much as the course itself.
