Few American cities have a golf history as layered as San Antonio's, and Pecan Valley Golf Club carries a significant piece of it. The course hosted the 1968 PGA Championship — one of the most grueling major championships of the modern era — where Julius Boros claimed the title at age 48, making him the oldest major champion in history at the time. That tournament cemented Pecan Valley's place in the game's record books and gave the course a gravitas that outlasts any renovation or change in ownership.
