Molinetto Country Club occupies a stretch of Lombardy's agricultural lowlands just east of Milan, in the canal-threaded municipality of Cernusco sul Naviglio. The name itself is a clue to the landscape — "molinetto" refers to a small mill, and the flat, irrigated countryside here was shaped for centuries by the Naviglio waterway system that Leonardo da Vinci helped engineer. It's a setting that feels distinctly Padana: broad skies, rows of poplars, and the kind of humid stillness in summer that reminds you exactly where you are.
As one of the more established private clubs in Milan's eastern hinterland, Molinetto has long served the city's golf community, offering a mature, tree-lined layout where course management matters more than raw distance. The par 71 configuration signals a design that asks for accuracy and variety rather than simply rewarding the longest hitter.
For visiting golfers, playing here means stepping into the serious, understated side of Italian club golf — less resort fanfare, more genuine members' culture, with the urban density of one of Europe's great cities just minutes away.
