Few settings in Scottish golf are quite as arresting as this one. The Isle of Arran sits in the Firth of Clyde, a short ferry crossing from the Ayrshire coast, and has long drawn visitors who come as much for the landscape as the golf. Granite peaks, moorland, and dramatic sea views define the island's character, and Corrie — a small village on Arran's northeastern shore — offers one of its most scenic corners, looking across the water toward the Kintyre peninsula.

A par 60 tells you this is a short course, almost certainly built around par 3s and brief par 4s, but that description undersells what a layout like this actually delivers: intimate, unhurried golf where placement and feel matter more than distance, and where the surroundings do a great deal of the work. Courses of this type on Scottish islands tend to be community-rooted, unpretentious, and genuinely enjoyable for players of any level.

Arran as a whole punches well above its size for golf, hosting several courses across the island. Playing Corrie means stepping into a very particular tradition — informal, accessible, and thoroughly Scottish in the best sense.
