Eskilstuna GK sits in Sweden's Södermanland county, in a city that has long carried the nickname "Sweden's Sheffield" for its industrial heritage in metalworking and manufacturing. The club has been part of the local sporting fabric for decades, and the course occupies the kind of gently rolling, forested Swedish countryside that characterizes this part of the Mälaren Valley region — mixed woodland, open meadow stretches, and the particular quality of Scandinavian light that makes summer rounds feel almost endless during the long June and July evenings.
The course plays through a landscape shaped by the softly undulating terrain typical of central Sweden, where birch and pine frame the fairways and create a natural, unhurried atmosphere. Like many established Swedish clubs, the design rewards placement and course management over raw power, with the woodland corridors demanding accuracy off the tee.
Eskilstuna itself is roughly 100 kilometers west of Stockholm, making the club accessible to golfers from the capital while serving a strong and loyal regional membership. Swedish golf culture tends toward the serious and unpretentious, and this club reflects that character well.
