Mercer Oaks East is one of 2 18-hole courses at the Mercer Oaks Golf Complex, a Mercer County public facility that has quietly become one of the better public golf options in central New Jersey. The complex sits within Mercer County Park, a sprawling green corridor between Princeton and Trenton that gives the course a genuinely open, parkland feel — wide skies, mature oaks, and enough natural separation between holes to make you forget you're on a county-run property.
The East course plays to a par 72 and shares the property with the West course, giving golfers a reason to return and work through both layouts. Mercer County's public golf facilities have long served the dense suburban corridor along Route 1, offering accessible tee times to a region full of avid players who might otherwise face the private-club culture that dominates much of the Jersey golf landscape.
Princeton Junction itself is commuter-belt New Jersey — convenient, well-connected, and closer to genuine open space than its location between two major cities might suggest. For county-operated golf, Mercer Oaks punches above its weight.
