Uppsala sits about 70 kilometers north of Stockholm, a university city where the landscape opens into broad agricultural plains, birch forests, and the kind of quiet Swedish countryside that feels a long way from the capital's bustle. The surrounding Uppland region has a distinctly unhurried character, and the golf here tends to reflect that — courses woven into farmland and woodland rather than engineered showpieces.
Edenhof GK is set in Bälinge, a small community just north of Uppsala proper, and takes its name from the Edenhof estate that anchors the property. Like many Swedish parkland courses developed in the latter decades of the 20th century, it occupies gently rolling terrain where mature trees define fairways and the changing seasons — from the long light of the Swedish summer to the vivid autumn color — shape the experience as much as the golf itself.
For visitors, this is a genuine local club rather than a destination resort, the kind of place where members know each other by name and weekend rounds move at a relaxed pace.
