Osprey Meadows At Tamarack

Osprey Meadows at Tamarack sits at roughly 5,000 feet in the West Central Idaho mountains, part of the Tamarack Resort development that brought a ski mountain and golf course to the Long Valley region in the mid-2000s. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and occupies a spectacular alpine meadow framing the base of Tamarack's ski terrain, with Meadow Lake and the surrounding Payette River watershed shaping both the scenery and the routing. It's a genuine mountain golf experience — short summers, crisp air, and a playing season that runs roughly June through October before the ski crowd reclaims the valley.

RTJ Jr.'s design makes full use of the natural landscape: wide meadow corridors give way to holes that skirt wetlands and marshes, the kind of habitat that earns a course its osprey namesake. The mountain backdrop is ever-present, giving the round a visual drama that flat-land courses simply can't manufacture.

Long Valley draws visitors who are splitting time between outdoor pursuits, and Osprey Meadows fits that spirit — serious enough in its design to reward a dedicated golfer, but accessible enough to suit the resort guest picking up a round between hikes or bike rides.
