Canandaigua sits at the northern tip of the lake that shares its name — the "Chosen Spot," as the Seneca people called it — and the Finger Lakes region surrounding it is some of the most quietly beautiful terrain in the northeastern United States. Rolling glacial hills, deep blue water, and vineyards climbing the slopes define the landscape, and golf courses out here tend to reflect that character: open to the sky, shaped by the land's natural contours, and fully exposed to the seasons.
Centerpointe Country Club is a private club experience in a region that rewards those who make the trip. The Finger Lakes don't advertise themselves the way the Hamptons or the Adirondacks do, but golfers who know the area know that courses here carry a genuine sense of place — terrain with real movement, turf that holds through the summer, and rounds that feel unhurried.
As a par-72 layout, Centerpointe offers a complete test across all 4 categories of par, making it a proper member's track rather than a novelty round. The surrounding wine country and the lake itself give a visit here a destination quality that goes well beyond the back nine.
